After demonstrating a rather lackluster trailer for a next-gen Tekken back at E3, Namco-Bandai had some making up to do with an official announcement of Tekken 6. To be fair, the Tekken PS3 tech-demo is speculated to have actually been an enhanced Tekken 5 running in HD - which has now become the PS3's Tekken: Dark Resurrection. In any case, just a few hours ago, Namco went on to reveal Tekken 6 by releasing an actual gameplay trailer of the game running.

Mass Effect Main Quest Will Not Be 40 Hours |
|
Wednesday, February 14 2007 @ 06:50 AM CST 0 comments Post a comment
BioWare's upcoming Xbox 360 RPG Mass Effect will only feature a main campaign lasting between 20 and 30 hours. This is according to Microsoft who clarified the game's length to Team Xbox after BioWare's CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka had said the main campaign would last around 40 hours.
"There are so many interesting choices, no player will likely see everything in the game in one pass through the core game. One play through, just one permutation of the critical path, would be about 20-30 hours and the extra stuff you could do, including exploration of uncharted worlds and post-release content, would add another 20 or more hours depending on what you do and in what order," said Microsoft.
Earlier BioWare joint CEO Dr. Ray Muzyka said that the game would last "about 40 hours or so for the main story" and "probably another 20 or 30 hours or so of stuff, or more, depending on how much you do and what order you do it in and all of that."

GameStop Stock Ready To Split |
|
Tuesday, February 13 2007 @ 07:38 AM CST 0 comments Post a comment
Nasdaq has been awfully kind to GameStop lately, as the mega-retailer's stock closed today at $53.04, which is only about $5 below its 52-week high of $58.42. In short, the share price is doing well.
But evidently, there is such a thing as "too well" in big business, because GameSpot has opted to generate a 2-for-1 stock split that will award each current shareholder two shares worth half as much as one share's value by the end of trading on February 20. All additional shares will be given out on March 16.

Oblivion Won't Run on Wii |
|
Monday, February 12 2007 @ 07:24 AM CST 0 comments Post a comment
Speaking to Shacknews, Bethesda Softworks' Pete Hines has revealed that Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion simply won't work on the Wii.
"... we designed a game that's really going to push some limits and would do the things we thought next-gen consoles might be able to do. When 360 dev kits were available, we did it on them because it was available. It's not really going to run on a Wii for example, but if it could we would put it there," said Hines.
