Two-time major champion John Daly and his wife have filed for divorce, four months after she finished serving a federal sentence involving finances from an alleged drug and gambling ring.
Sherrie Miller Daly filed for divorce on Oct. 17, and Daly filed a day later, according to records in Shelby County, Tenn.

Police searched for clues Wednesday in the fatal shooting of University of Miami lineman Bryan Pata, the latest shock to a Hurricanes team touched by tragedy and turmoil.
Pata, a popular figure on campus, practiced Tuesday afternoon and was shot about two hours later at his apartment complex. The 22-year-old senior who grew up in Miami was pronounced dead in the parking lot outside his apartment. His death was ruled a homicide, Miami-Dade police spokesman Roy Rutland said.

Brian Urlacher walked into a meeting room Monday with no noticeable limp, an encouraging sign for the Chicago Bears, still reeling from their first loss.
An MRI exam showed the star linebacker has a sprained big toe on his left foot and not the major injury the team had feared.
