Ravens linebacker Roderick Green was stabbed early Sunday during a fight at a bowling alley, Baltimore County police said.
Green was taken to Sinai Hospital. Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne told WBFF-TV that Green’s injury doesn’t appear to be serious.

Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro has developed “potentially serious” complications to his injured right hind leg, and underwent surgery to treat a new infection.
The infection developed in the leg where a titanium plate and 27 screws were inserted after the 3-year-old colt shattered three bones at the start of the Preakness on May 20.

A.J. Pierzynski got his ticket punched to Pittsburgh. A magnet for mayhem, the White Sox catcher beat out Minnesota rookie pitcher Francisco Liriano for the final AL All-Star spot in Internet voting Thursday. NL batting leader Nomar Garciaparra breezed to the last NL slot in the fan balloting.
Final totals were not announced. Pierzynski got about 3.6 million votes to hold off a late push by Liriano.

A Chicago Bulls mascot dressed in a bright red costume was charged with attacking an off-duty officer after driving a mini-motorcycle through an outdoor festival.
Barry Anderson, the Benny the Bull mascot, was charged with misdemeanor battery and driving within a parkway. The 26-year-old man is accused of throwing a punch at the sheriff's deputy, knocking off his glasses and breaking his watch.

A Duke University lacrosse player who was suspended for sending a vulgar e-mail about killing strippers has been reinstated and can rejoin the team in the fall.
The school had suspended Ryan McFadyen, 20, of Mendham, N.J., after authorities investigating rape allegations by a dancer at a team party released a search warrant for his dorm room that included the graphic e-mail sent from his Duke account.

Four-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield is planning to end his 21-month retirement to face Jeremy Bates, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Holyfield, 43, hasn't fought since losing a unanimous decision to Larry Donald on Nov. 13, 2004. His fight is a 10-round bout scheduled for Aug. 19 in Dallas, ESPN reported.

British media said up to $546,000 of wagers were placed on No. 89 Carlos Berlocq of Argentina to lose the match Tuesday. He lost 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to Richard Bloomfield, who is ranked 170 places below him and got into the draw as a wild card.

The NFL has toughened up its drug policy, adding amphetamines to the list of banned performance-enhancers starting this season.
Amphetamines were previously listed as a “substance-abuse drug,” but are now in the same category as steroids and other enhancers that carry much stronger penalties. This season will serve as a transition year, where a first positive test would bring a warning and put a player into the drug program.
